In order for nature sounds to start playing choose a sound from drop-down box for one channel and drag the volume slider up.
You can add more nature sounds to composition by choosing other sounds in other channels.
Pan the channel (with horizontal slider) to the left or to the right for stereo effects.
If you want the sound volume to fluctuate instead of playing continuously, click on a drop-down box with a green line and choose one of interrupted lines.
Create sounds composition that you like.

You will need to enter the name for your composition (part of the link), your email address (later used to claim authorship) and a confirmation that you are not a robot :).
After saving the composition as a link, you and everyone else will be able to listen to it just by going to a link similar to this one gomix.it/Rainy-Day.
Create sounds composition that you like.
Click on the button "Export to File" (on the lower part of the Sound Mixer).
Choose the length of the file and click "Next". You will need to wait some time until sound file is prepared.

Cheryl DeMent How do you uninstall this app?
2011-12-29 19:05:11
Andris Zalitis If you are referencing the mixer on this website then it is a Flash content that resides on the Web - it's not installed on your computer, so you can't uninstall it.
If you are referencing the iPhone app then uninstall is as every other app - tap and hold on its icon and when "x" appears - tap on it.

Mark McKinlay This worked great for me.. I was able to download my mix, convert the file to MP3 and then load it to my ipod.. I think it's going to help.. Thanks..
2011-12-30 00:43:11
Carolyne Griffin Hi Mark, what format did your file download as? Trying it here and it's only downloading "exe" files, need it as mac-format.
2012-01-12 13:27:43
Mark McKinlay Hi Carolyne .. When I was done mixing, I selected "Export To File" .. I saved it to my desktop in "OGG" format. I used "Freecorder" (a free download tool I found on the internet) to convert the file from OGG to MP3. I Tunes recognized the file and added to my I-Tunes Library.. I have bad Tinnitus and the mix I made sure helped as a mask.. Hope this info helps.. Feel free to message me on Facebook.. Good Luck..
2012-01-12 22:17:26
Cynthia M. Dagnal-Myron Thank you for Freecorder! It does several things from my browser that I had to do by opening lots of separate programs before! Excellent!

Larry C Sessions It sounds great when I play online, but when I download my mix to OGG format, it appears to record only in mono. Well, there are two tracks, but they appear to be exactly the same track. Any ideas?
2012-01-09 21:37:55
Andris Zalitis I know what you mean. If you put the same sound in two tracks and change their balance - one to the left and the other to the right, then you can get a pseudo stereo effect because they don't start exactly at the same time in the web browser. However if you save the mix as OGG then it recalculates all the sound data precisely so both sounds start at the same time therefore you don't get this effect. Sorry about that. But if the sound itself is stereo - it will be stereo in OGG too.
2012-01-10 11:14:00
Larry C Sessions Andris Zalitis Thanks for your reply. You described what I did well and I do think that is the answer. I tried it again just now with just one channel of wind in leaves and it recorded as stereo. Actually, as you indicated, the original file also was nominally stereo, but it was just that the two channels were the same. It was like two channels of mono sound. Anyway, I think this answers my question. Now to figure out how to work around it. Thanks again.
2012-01-10 15:21:55
Larry C Sessions BTW, I just tried it again just as I had it originally. Two channels of leaves in the wind balanced oppositely (L & R), and channel of heartbeat centrally balanced and a channel of crickets balanced to the right. The only difference was that I changed the duration settings on each of the leaves channels. One was all the time and the other was one of the options with breaks. Then I caled a file and there is now a clear stereo effect! Yea! Thanks again.

2012-01-11 19:54:43
Ds Padda I have tried almost all apps and this is the best app to mask tinnitus.
I have found flute and Sitar sounds effective in masking and if these could be added it would be great.
2012-01-15 08:14:40
Andris Zalitis Thank you for the suggestion! I'll let you know when these sounds are added.
2012-01-15 17:04:51
Ds Padda I have high frequency tinnitus in my left year. I have been using this app for a few days now and it masks my tinnitus completely. The most effective sounds are grasshopper, forest birds, sparklers, fire and tibetan bowl more or less in the same order. Mixing these with rain, creek and beach make them very pleasant to listen. The app in its present state is almost perfect. Instead of the present 4 sounds to mix more would be really great.
2012-01-17 10:05:49
Jonathan Duderino Trumble Might I suggest, in lieu of having more sound options in one mixer, to just open a second browser and add the additional sounds you want. I use creek, rain, waterfall, thunder, an din the second browser, loons and owls, or the flute, or the drum...whatever I like.

Jeffery Smith Just found this last night.I set it to I put it on river, wind in leaves, spring peepers and owl and I slept like a baby.
2012-02-04 04:53:51
Mariah Shipp where is wind in leaves I couldn't find that?
2013-01-19 00:49:19
Greg Coffin why is it that when I adjust the frequency of each effect, the volume is automatically reduced to 0?
2012-02-08 01:56:55
Andris Zalitis When you change the green bar of a channel the sound volume begins to oscilate. For some of the oscilation variants sound starts with a silence and after some time increase the volume. So it is normal.

2012-03-06 03:42:57
Andris Zalitis If it stays in "installing" state it probably means that there is a problem with your Internet connection or something went wrong with iOS. Try restarting your iPad (hold lock button on top for 5 seconds and then slide power-off slider, after that hold the lock button again to turn it on). And then try again to download the app from AppStore.

Elspeth Joy Ross Audacity is a free software program that will play this file type. Additionally, and better yet, it also has the capability to mix different sound files together, so you could create a file here with 4 sounds and create another one and use Audacity to mix them together. Not only that, Audacity can export the files as MP3s.

Anastasia Vinogradova Is there any link to post it to the blog? I can't find.
2012-09-04 20:39:37
Andris Zalitis Right now there is no option to embed a mix into a blog post. But it will be possible after some updates.
2012-09-04 21:05:07
Anastasia Vinogradova Thank you for the answer) I'll be waiting)

Austin Kargl I have my receiver set on multi-channel and the 5.1 sounds incredible. Especially with the Fireplace/Thunder/Rain combo.
2012-09-12 15:15:21
Sehra Farron I really wish you guys would make this an installable program that could be used right on the desktop. This is great stuff.
The option to import sound files would be awesome too.
2012-09-23 04:23:37
John Dunkleman I would pay for this if it had more sounds I could add at one time...Rain, thunder, crickets, Spring peepers, rain on roof and maybe a heavy rain interval - all at once would be awesome! Also if I could set how quiet the intervals go instead of totally silent (for example lighten the rain instead of silents) would be awesome and I would def buy it for the Ipad/Ipod. I love what you can do already with it, Great!
2012-09-27 20:55:42
David Colantuono How's this for an interesting combination: loon, highway, Native American Flute, and a sheep? lol
2012-10-01 03:12:30
Dave Shaffer I just mixed a creek/forest birds/Native American flute, recorded 4:47 using Mp3MyMp3, did a fade in/fade out with Audacity, and used it in a slideshow of Barton Creek created with Lightroom. Awesome! And sounds pretty dang good in stereo with the creek on one channel & the birds on the other, and the flutes centered (through an ancient Sony STR-K740P HTS).
2012-10-01 03:42:58
Aaron Halfaker Hi Jenny!
2012-10-09 02:05:34
Chris Sekely This seems to work really well. My primary suggestion for improvement would be to allow the setting of min and max volumes for each fader. That way, the volume oscillations would sound more natural and wouldn't have to go entirely to zero (no sound at all) for a bit. Other suggestions would include automated L/R panning and more channels (of course). Also, I don't like Facebook. Requiring a Facebook login to sign in is a bad way to go.
2012-10-09 07:01:18
GoMixIt Good suggestions! We are thinking about volume oscillation functionality upgrade. By the way - facebook login is optional, you can register as a regular user.
2012-10-09 14:07:51

Maria Elena Kasper This is great for getting the day's noise and junk out of my head and easing into night prayer and sleep!
If you are thinking of adding new sounds, I'd vote for (1) a train whistle as heard from a distance or (2) church bells as heard from a distance.
2012-11-10 18:03:52
Old Grouch I would love train sounds - trains in the distance and the sounds of riding on one.
2012-11-27 05:52:43
Ben Smith Android, and I will buy it.
2012-11-30 18:27:32
Anna Manning How do I get a download to last an hour or more? Do I just need to play it for that long and then export to file?
2012-12-09 20:10:45
Chad Schultz I'm not sure what you mean... are you asking how to record streaming audio from the Internet of over an hour in length, or what?
2012-12-09 20:13:28
Maria Elena Kasper 30 minutes seems to be the longest time you can choose when you save it to your computer using "export to file".
2012-12-09 20:54:21
Chad Schultz Anna, if you have sounds and want to combine them into a longer recording, you probably want to use Audacity... feel free to ask me questions about using that.
2012-12-09 21:03:08
Anna Manning Okay, here's what I've done so far: I bought the App for my iPad, but I would like to mix recordings and save them as mp3s for my iPod, and I would like them to last for hours. Reason: to help me sleep through very loud tinnitus in both ears. I really like the mix of rain and thunder. I bought some white noise mp3s on another site, but those are only an hour and the quiet space between the recordings is abrupt. The app is really cool in that it has a slow fade at the end. So, what can I use on my computer to record sounds?
2012-12-10 00:18:08
Anna Manning @[40012475:2048:Chad Schultz] Yes, to your first question.
2012-12-10 00:18:41
Andris Zalitis Anna, one option for you is to create a sound mix that you like and save it as 30 minute OGG file. Then copy it multiple times in a sequence in a free audio editing program like Audacity. Because the exported ogg file is a perfect loop, you can make as long file as you want this way. Then export resulting audio to mp3 and put it on your iPod.
Another option is to use the iOS app which you have already bought, however it is meant for playback and does not have a possibility of exporting to a file. But if you want the audio to play on your iPod instead of iPad - you can do it with the same iOS app, if you have iPod Touch with iOS version atleast 4.3.
However if you want to add your own sounds to the mix, you will need to go the first route (editing audio with Audacity) because currently the iOS app does not have the functionality of adding your own sounds, although it is planned in a near future.
2012-12-10 07:07:24
Ananda Portela I Used to listen some birds and winds eventually, while listen some instrumental music. it compounds the ambient to study and relax at the same time. very nice.
2012-12-18 06:00:50
Susan Regan It wont let me name my sound.
2013-01-08 22:07:03
GoMixIt It has some restriction on names (the length and characters allowed). It should display an error message if it does not accept the name.
2013-01-13 11:05:20
Jeremy High its good but a little glitched when things don't load. some bugs still need to be fixed until its perfect.
2013-01-14 03:32:33
GoMixIt Yeah, you should let it load the sound before you press the mute button, if you want to stop it.
2013-01-15 11:34:35
Gordon W Jorgensen More channels! More sounds! when piped into the main HiFi, the whole house can go anywhere.

2013-03-15 05:02:04
Nathan Ridens Would LOVE to have more channels to work with maybe 8 or more? Tried using the same sounds (like rain or thunder) on two channels and panned one hard left and one hard right. This makes them offset and sounds like you are right there. Love the fader automation options, love the sounds. Great job!
